Today I got to work in some areas that I so greatly enjoyed! I love to work with young people and that is what the focus was on all day. We worked at the kitchen feeding the young children and people from the town. Before feeding them, we were able to give them a Bible message. After we fed them all I stayed to help clean up. The first service of the kids’ campaign was tonight and it went very well. Some people don’t consider working with the youth to be important, but it truly is a very important aspect that we need to focus on. The young people are the hope of the next generation. Let us never neglect those that are following in our footsteps.
The first part of today was a day of rest for me as I have not been feeling well. The Sumner family has been such wonderful hosts and we are grateful for all that they have done for us. They are a true example of a family that is sold out to Christ.
The service tonight (the 2nd night of youth revival) was absolutely outstanding. From the very first song the Lord was present to help men and women and draw people closer to him. Brother Brock preached amazing about taking up the mantel and how the anointing is for all those that desire it. It was amazing to see the people lingering in the altars seeking a greater relationship with God. God is seeking for men and women who are willing to be sold out to him and doing whatever he bids them to do!! Oh that we would have a greater desire for the things of God than we have ever had before!
The majority of today was spent in traveling back to Danli from ministering up North. On the way, we were able to visit a cave. It was very cool! By the time we got back to the Sumner’s home it was 5 o’clock, we had just enough time to eat and change to leave to pick people up for the first night of youth service. It was such a joy to be able to pick up the people who were eager to go to service. The service was very wonderful! Brother Gilles and Brother Pahlman preached very similar messages and you could tell that the Holy Ghost had orchestrated it all. The Lord really moved in the altar service. I am looking forward to what God is going to do in the rest of the services. There is nothing like working for Jesus!
Another busy day behind us, but it has been a wonderful one in the Lord. Today, as we ministered (3 services), I was reminded that the same devil that fights in the USA fights here in Honduras too and he knows that his time is running out. He has pulled out all the stops, so to speak, and is doing whatever he can to take souls away from God! But the God of the US is just as powerful here and He has power greater than anything that the devil can conceive. Jesus Christ is still in the soul saving and delivering business. Brother Sumner was telling us today about how many of the soldiers face oppression and fight thoughts of suicide. While he was telling us this, the song "Jesus Breaks every Fetter" came to mind. Whatever has us bound, Christ can loose us from. At the last service tonight there were 193 soldiers and most of them came forward at the end of service asking God to help them. It was amazing to feel the presence of the Holy Ghost come into the courtyard where we were and just work in men’s lives! There is absolutely nothing better than working for God and seeing the family of God grow! I'm so very grateful for this opportunity.
What a blessed day it has been! Even though it started early (4:30am) and I dealt with car sickness (I'm not used to the rough roads and mountains) and I fell out of the van and banged myself up, it has still been a great day overall! The absolute best part of the day was when we were in services and the power of God came into the room to reach the lost! At one of the services (#4) approximately 30+ plus came forward to make a declaration of faith. Despite all setbacks, sicknesses, or any pain I may experience, seeing lives being surrendered to Christ makes it worth it all!! Gloria a Dios!
