Day 9

3/4/2014

Back into town to put the last coat of paint on the soup kitchen tables. As yesterday, the guys stayed at the property working on welding and building more tables and benches for the soup kitchen. We finished the last coat and made a quick turn around back to the house where we painted the benches and frames with black paint. The guys had made a lot of progress on them and if we could've had one more day, we would have been able to paint the tabletops with color! But I'm thankful for all the progress that was made.
Our last night of youth revival was great. John Butler and Bro. Pahlman preached great messages and the youth from our church sang in between and they did an awesome job! After the preaching and an amazing altar service, our church people had an opportunity to stand and testify of what The Lord had done for them in the revival. One after another stood and spoke of how The Lord had touched them, filled them with His presence or healed them during the services. It was truly amazing! Our God is an awesome God!

Day 8

3/3/2014

Work day for the sent team today! After an awesome breakfast at the house, we were off to the soup kitchen to paint the tables. They were painted for the first time by last year's sent team, but after all the wear and tear another coat was needed. We worked on cleaning the dust off and sanding the tabletops down. We had the first coat on in no time and after a while, we headed back home because the paint was going to have to dry all night. I think everyone had their own coat of dust after riding in the back of the truck home! We all cleaned up and rode to our second night of youth revival. Service was awesome tonight and Jacob Vaughn preached first and followed up by James Hardy. I am so thankful for how our church people got blessed and The Lord really touched their lives!

Day 7

3/2/2014

With our last kids' crusade being this morning, it ended on an amazing note. Our focus was on the necessity of the Holy Spirit and how it is vital to be filled. As it was ending, my Dad asked who all was saved and then who all wanted to be filled with the Holy Ghost. He told those who were hungry to be filled to come and stand at the front of the church. Almost every child came forward and then the youth and adults just came in behind. The Spirit of The Lord came down as young and old alike began to weep. It stirred my heart seeing our Sunday school kids seeking The Lord with a sincere heart. On of our little 8 year old boys that his parents have brought him to our church ever since he was about 2 or 3 was filled with the Holy Ghost, praise The Lord!

Tonight marked the first night of youth revival. It was refreshing once again to be in our Spanish song service as everyone sang to the best of their ability. Bro. Pahlman, Sis. Amanda and Heather testified and then the sent team sang 'Jesus Breaks Every Fetter' in Spanish and then Daniel preached. Katherine testified and I followed. Afterwards, the song, 'You Deserve the Glory' and the people just started getting in and worshipping The Lord. Some went to the front and were pressing in. Bro. Hough who was supposed to be the second preacher for the night, began to exhort on how we could have victory over the Devil and the things that had you bound. How we could put the devil under our feet and be more than overcomers. The altars were filled and people were getting blessed. It was awesome to see some whom I haven't seen really get in in a long time, pressing in and breaking through. God is doing awesome things in Danli, Honduras!

Day 5

2/28/2014

We had an awesome service this morning at the local police station with a few military police that were present as well. We ate at Milay, a favorite local restaurant of ours. I spent just a bit helping out at the church getting ready for kids' crusade and then I went with the crew back home for a while. First night went pretty good, we are expecting a larger crowd tomorrow night and organizing things just a bit better, I am looking forward to a successful second night. Goodnight to all!

Day 4

2/27/2014

Today was a little bit different in that we only had one military service. One of the commanders told us there was close to 400 in attendance this morning! I got a video of the men breaking out of formation and running to the bleachers to get a seat, it was awesome! A message was preached about Jesus being our Great Shepherd and we are the sheep of His pasture. Bro. Hough used a large stick to show what a shepherd did when guiding the sheep. My family and I were able to see an officer that we have known for several years, we were glad to catch up with him. After the service, the commander of that base (3rd artillery battalion), wanted to talk to all of our group. He had my dad interpret and told us of how he had the privilege of being a soldier twice; first, in the Lord's army and secondly, in the armed forces of Honduras. He thanked us for coming and welcomed us back as soon as we could return.
On our way home, we stopped and ate at my favorite restaurant that served fried fish:) It tasted amazing and ate more than I should have. Bro. Hough, James and Daniel ate their fish's eyeballs! And James topped it all with eating it's brain! We got back on the road and reached home 5 hours later. We made it home just safely and I'm going to try to get to bed early tonight.

Day 3

2/26/2014

Wow! It was so nice to be able to sleep in some this morning:) We left our hotel at 7:00 a.m. And our first service was a half hour later with the police and special forces. Later on there was a ceremony about to begin at the Air force academy, they wanted Dad to speak to them and share the Word of God with the men waiting. He talked to them about guarding their hearts above all else. My parents had to run some errands and we took advantage of the time and caught up on some rest. The Lord moved in the services throughout the day, one notable and memorable place was back at the Air Force academy, but this time for service. Bro. Hough preached a message about being bound and then how to be set free from the old man of sin and death. At the end, the altar call was given and 12 men came forward to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior! It was an unforgettable experience, I thank God that He still moves on the hearts and lives of men who are hungry for Him.
They had lunch for us and it was delicious as always and we all were quite full as we left the base.

It's been a great day and I'm so thankful to get to be a part of what The Lord is doing for men and women across the country. Good night and God bless!

Day 2

2/25/2014

3:30 a.m. came all too quick as we woke and prepared to leave on what we call "busy week" this morning at 4:00. I'm pretty sure everyone but the driver (I hope!) was asleep a short time later. We began this week of services off at the tactical battalion with a very good size crowd and the Spirit of The Lord moved as different ones testified, sang and Bro. Hough preached. We were scheduled to have 5 more services at various battalions and bases, but we ended up having only 4 more. We stopped for ice cream at a Mennonite bookstore on the way to our last service. Everyone seemed to enjoy it, but Heather still can't get over the fact that we ate 'Mennonite' 'ice cream' in 'Honduras'! I guess she wasn't expecting that experience:) After the conclusion of our last service at the Engineer battalion, we were invited to eat supper in the officers' dining hall. We have been on the road for a while now and I believe our hotel isn't too far away. The present entertainment is James Hardy teaching Bro. Hough our Spanish songs and telling tall tales. I hope bed time comes soon because those of us who are awake are getting slap happy and this might not be good! Haha Goodnight from San Pedro Sula, Honduras:)
