DAY EIGHT

3/11/2013

Monday was a work day! We spent the majority of the day working at the soup kitchen preparing the tables to be painted. After several hours of sanding, the tables were finally ready for their first coat of paint. Red, blue, yellow, green and Orange! Fun colors as Bro. Alan said! Kid friendly was the thought in mind! J Some of the neighborhood kids gathered outside the gate watching us paint. They were already arguing over who got the green table and who got the yellow table.  You couldn’t help but smile! Oh TO BE A KID AGAIN!! J

What a transformation it made!!! It’s such a blessing to know that SENT has been an influential help through the years, financially able to support the soup kitchen. We have had the privilege to purchase the land the soup kitchen sets on as well as labor physically in building tables for it and now this year being able to paint them.

Every Saturday they feed around 150-200 children through this ministry as well as teach them a bible story and a memory verse. The majority of these children that attend are very poor and don’t have a lot of hope for a descent life. Presenting Christ to them brings them hope of a brighter future.

The heart of a child is so tender to the spirit of God and that has been evident in all the children we have had the opportunity of ministering to here in Honduras. To see tears roll down their faces and their little hands raised in surrender to the Lord is one of the most precious sights to behold. Jesus is truly their only hope!!!

“Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.” Luke 18:16

DAY SEVEN

3/10/2013

WOW!!! I can't believe it's already Sunday!!! Time is flying way too fast and before we know it we will be flying home! It's definitely bittersweet for me! God has done tremendous things in the lives of those we have had the opportunity of ministering to as well as renewing His Spirit within my heart, reminding me how precious the call of God is! I’m so grateful for the peace and joy that comes when you are in God's perfect will.
This morning we continued with our children's crusade. Bro. Pahlman held class with the adults.
In the children's crusade we focused on how the choices we make will either take us to heaven or hell. At the end of the service we did a reenactment of standing before God on judgment day! It was a very powerful skit and many came forward in the altar call.

The evening service was action packed!!! We had a great time playing games with the children and performing skits for them. By the end of the night we ended on a serious note focusing in on the call of God! We had several even come forward for salvation!!! It was a great ending to a very successful kids' crusade!!! Thanks to Sis. Carter for teaching us so well how to plan a great children's crusade!!! :)

Tomorrow is a work day at the Sumner's home. ;)
Adios!!!

DAY SIX

3/9/2013

Saturday our form of ministry changed. We focused in on the children. We enjoyed the soup kitchen and held a service there. We started off by singing songs and then did a reenactment of Joshua taking the walls of Jericho. Chris played Joshua and Bro. Brock, Aaron and Daniel made up his army. Melissa and Janna were the two spies who spied out the city. The children bursted in laughter as they dramatically marched around the city with their shields (trash can lids) and spears (broom handles).
By the end of the skit the children learned the importance of obedience and why we must do things God’s way rather than our own. It was a full day of ministry. After the skit we passed out plates of food to the children. We also performed the Jericho skit at three Saturday schools.

This evening we started the children's crusade at Christ Cares Church. The children were excited, full of energy, and ready for a night of fun. The SENT team performed each one of their skits wonderfully!!! We focused on the dangers of sin and the consequences it brings.

Praise God for a great night of ministry!

DAY FIVE

3/8/2013

It’s hard to believe its Friday already!!!! The day started with a service with the police. After the team sang and testified, Bro. Chris ministered so profoundly on the 3 obstacles to hell. When the altar call was given about 6 people came forward for salvation. One lady that stood out to me was one I remembered from last year. She stood there weeping before the Lord. I couldn’t help but cry myself as I prayed that God would open her heart and give her understanding of who Jesus Christ is. It’s in these moments I wish I knew how to speak Spanish. The second night of youth revival was beyond what words can even describe. The power and presence of God moved so mightily as Bro. Brock preached on taking up the mantle. He talked to the youth about forsaking all to follow the call of God. He used the Sumner families as an example of men who had laid everything else aside and chose to live their lives in Honduras preaching the Gospel. He told them that these men wouldn’t always be here and that God was looking for young men to take up the mantle to carry the work on in Honduras. When Bro. Brock gave the altar call several of the men came forward weeping and shaking under the power of God. One young man fell out on the floor and several others fell to their knees, with tears rolling down their faces. When it was time to be dismissed, nobody moved. The presence of God was still sweeping across the congregation.  I felt the Spirit of God so sweetly come over my own heart and speak to me. It was a defining moment in my life that I will never forget. I’m thankful that God orders our steps through His word and that He is the same yesterday, today and forever more. The promises of God are the same as they were the very first time God spoke them to you and what He says He will do. We are looking forward to the soup kitchen, Saturday schools, and kids crusade all on Saturday. It’s going to be a full Day! We are believing the Lord to move in a mighty way once again.

DAY FOUR

3/7/2013

The North and South have once again reunited together as one!!! We enjoyed sharing many stories expressing all God accomplished on each team.

Youth revival began tonight! The anointing power of the Holy Ghost filled the atmosphere. As Bro. Scott led the congregation in songs I felt the Spirit of the Lord so sweetly. All I kept thinking about was how thankful I am to know that God has a people in the country of Honduras who loves the Lord and who is serving Him. I once again was reminded of God's omnipresence. The verse came to mind in Revelation in heaven that we will sing praises unto our Savior in a heavenly language that the angels cannot sing!!! Oh, how I look forward to heaven!!!

The SENT team has been doing an outstanding job! God is using them and working though them every day. Aaron Gilles challenged the youth people with, "If you are not what you wanted to be, Jesus can make you more than you ever thought you could be." It was evident that the Lord was speaking to the young people. The anointed convicting power of God was so strong. Bro. Pahlman directly followed Bro. Aaron and began to preach, "You Don't Have to Be Loser, You Can Be a Winner." When the altar call was given, many flooded the altar. Tears flowed down their faces; some shook under the power of the Holy Ghost, others shouted in joy and victory!!! God's power is the same yesterday, today and for ever more!!! Praise God!!! He never changes! He's still saving today! He's still bringing victory! He's still setting people free!!! We serve a mighty God!

DAY THREE

3/6/2013

God has truly blessed the country of Honduras! Its doors of ministry are wide open! I believe He desires to perform a great move of the Holy Ghost throughout this country! He simply needs ambassadors of the Gospel to bring truth to this harvest field. We held 5 services today. This morning the service was with some of the top ranking police men in Honduras. They would be equivalent to our FBI in America! As those police men stood there, my attention was drawn to the expressions on their faces. Their countenance told the story of lives who had no doubt seen much sorrow, pain, hurt and disappointments in other people’s lives.

I testified about Christ being our solid rock on which we stand upon and when the affairs of life come in to overwhelm us, we can GO to that solid rock, Jesus Christ! He will be the one we can place our trust and confidence in! The power of the Holy Ghost was so strong in that little service and only God truly knows the hearts that were touched.

Each service was filled with the Lord's sweet presence. The police academy and military academy was my most favorite place that we went. They worshiped The Lord with such excitement and enthusiasm. Many of them raised their hands in sincere surrender to the Lord as the altar call was given.

The SENT team has been doing an outstanding job! God has been using them in great ways. All of our hard work and prayers have paid off. Praise God for His faithfulness.

DAY TWO

3/5/2013

It's Tuesday March 5, 2013!
The SENT Team parted ways today, dividing into
two groups. One group went south with Bro. Alan and the other went north with
Bro. Scott. We also have had the privilege of Bro. Mike Maxon, Sr. joining us on
our travels today. He has brought us much laughter and helped the team bring out
the lighter side of missionary life. He's also been a tremendous asset to the
services! We have had an awesome day of ministry so far! The Lord amazes me over
and over again. In spite of the language barrier His spirit is the same! His
presence filled the building where we were gathered together in our first
service this morning on the beautiful Tiger Island. Many of the SENT members
spoke about the love of God and the gift of eternal life. There was a young man
sitting on the front row with tears welling up in his eyes. It was evident God
was speaking to his heart! In our second service God once again showed up as He
so faithfully does. We sang unto the Lord and testified. Bro. Aaron preached a
great message on the heart of a man. We had one man come forward who had been
struggling to serve God! The team prayed with him! It's our hope and prayer that
he walked away forever changed.

It's also been a day of adventure as we enjoyed sightseeing on Tiger Island, rode in the rickshaws, ate fish with their heads still on them, and watched Bro. Pahlman bring a whole new meaning to the verse that talks about a righteous man falling seven times. We also drank filtered water from a bag! By the way, there is a trick to opening the bag of water without spilling it on you!!! Rachel chose to tell me the trick after I opened my bag of water. ; ) Oh, in case you’re wondering what happened to Bro. Pahlman- unfortunately his chair collapsed while eating lunch today. He took quite the tumble. He's okay though! :) Janna tried stealing cardboard off the boat for a souvenir but the boat driver caught her and retrieved his very valuable cardboard!

We are looking forward to another day of ministry tomorrow and trusting God for another great move of His spirit!

We have ARRIVED in Tegucigalpa Honduras!!!

3/4/2013

Goodbye to the cold, snowy hills of Pennsylvania. Hola to the tropical 80 degree weather of
Honduras!!! All of our flights went well and we were warmly welcomed by the Sumner family upon arrival.
We have already enjoyed our first Honduran meal at Coco Baleadas and now ice cream at McDonalds.
The team is excited and looking forward to the opportunities of ministrie that are ahead.

We will write more later.

Thanks for your prayers.
