Saturday!! This was a crazy but wonderful day all at the same time! : ) We began the day at the Kid’s Kitchen, helping prep for the meal and get everything ready for the kids. At 11, all the kids had arrived and we began the service. I’m not positive about how many children and their mothers were there but there were over 150 for sure. We did the Nehemiah skit and the children loved it (except for a couple who got scared by “the beast” a.k.a. Jacob Vaughn)! : ) After the lesson, we were all able to help hand out chicken soup, Kool-Aid and cookies to everyone. Right after we had finished handing out the food, we sat down and ate and then hit the road to the other Saturday schools.
The first Saturday school is run by Sis. Marta, and is the smallest of the Saturday schools but the kids are always super excited for visitors to come by. Sis. Suyapa and Sis. Eva help there as well, these ladies are definitely making an impact for the Lord on their neighborhood!
The second one is the one at Sis. Elena’s house. Sis. Elena and Sis. Cintia have had the greatest impact on our Sunday school attendance through their Saturday school. They will often bring a group of their neighborhood kids along with them on Sunday. There was one young boy who prayed over the service, he really stood out to all of us. Sis Elena said that he was filled with the Holy Ghost last year and you could feel the presence of the Lord while he prayed. It’s exciting to see little children who are getting a hold of God and being changed by Him!
Lastly we went to Sis. Virginia’s Saturday school. There are several sisters who help Sis Virginia with it and they are also making a big difference in their neighborhood. Their neighborhood is under a lot of gang influence and violence but here in the middle of it there is a little group of sisters teaching children about the love of God! Those of us who were the “builders” of the Nehemiah’s wall got good and soaked here! All the kids were given water balloons and told that on a signal they were all supposed to throw them at us! It was actually kind of refreshing :), anyways the kids enjoyed it a lot!
Saturday Night’s Kids Crusade went well! We are so thankful for the ways we have seen the Lord answer prayers we prayed weeks, even months ago! We serve a wonderful God!!
Probably the best thing that happened today was after the altar call, Uncle Scott called all those who wanted healing to come to the front to receive prayer. Our people flooded the altars and we began to pray with them. God really came by and moved in amazing ways! I know that several lives were touched by the Lord and I can’t wait to hear testimonies of healing!! God is so good to us! To God be the glory for all He has done!
