Day 10

3/11/2015

There are only a few days left until we leave. We went to the Air Force base first and Bro. Aaron Johnson preached.  Next we went to the CELFFAA, which is the Center of Languages for the Armed Forces of Honduras. There we visited the part that the officers are only allowed to speak English. It was so weird for me to be doing a service in English in Honduras. I have been there several times, but I have never gotten used to it. Bro. Jacob Vaughn preached there.

After that, we went to the Police Academy and held a service. We all put on a skit that we had been putting on at the Saturday Schools and the cadets seemed to love it. Bro. Ashton Davis preached.

The last place we went to was the military academy. This is one of my favorite places to visit. They love to sing "Father Abraham" and they get in just like little kids. We did the same skit there also and they loved it. After the skit, Bro. Pahlman preached. At every service we went to today, there was a good response of the military personnel and police cadets. The Lord is always faithful.

Day 9

3/10/2015

We ate breakfast of homemade baleadas, which is a flour tortilla with beans and eggs and sour cream, and coffee. I love Honduran breakfasts. :) We all went to the kids kitchen and started cleaning and sanding the tables and benches to get ready to paint. We painted the tables and the framework. It took all day, but it was fun. We headed home once we were done and got ready for church. I had a good time in the bus with the kids. I missed them all so much. The service was really good and God came by and touched our church people. Bro. Charles Pahlman preached a good message. After the service, we said our goodbyes to all of the church members. I will miss all of them so much.

Day 8

3/9/2015

We left for the kids kitchen to do maintenance. The men stayed there and worked on things like pressure washing the tables and benches while all of the girls went to town to run errands. We headed home after everything was done and had a few hours before we left for church.

Tonight is the second night of the youth revival. Bro. Ashton Davis preached very good and I know that people received help. Every message and testimony, so far, has been exactly what was needed. God always speaks through people who are open to Him and desire to be used of Him.

Day 7

3/8/2015

We had the last part of the kids crusade this morning. The kids seemed to really enjoy the games, stories, and songs. I'm so thankful that the Lord came by and moved among the kids in the altars. The last of the three part skit told about salvation. We were praying with the kids and one little girl I went up to and prayed with was crying. I am thankful that God really does love the little children and He moves among them.

At night, we started the first night of the youth revival. Bro. Jacob Vaughn preached right to the needs of several I knew. He preached "Wounded in the House of God." God really moved in the altars and helped people. I am thankful and always amazed at when God speaks to preachers who do not know of the needs of people, but deliver exactly what is needed.

Day 6

3/7/2015

Today is Saturday and the day that we go to all of the Saturday schools. The Saturday schools are like Sunday Schools for the kids that are in the neighborhood of church members from our church. There are three Saturday Schools and my family runs the kids kitchen.

We left the house and the first place that we went to was the 9th battalion. They have a program that is a type of a Christian boy/girl scout program that the battalion has every Saturday. When we visited there Thursday, they had invited us to come again today to put on a skit for the kids. My dad has been there several times, but this is my first time to go to it. This program is called "Guardianes De La Patria" or "Guards of the Country." We had a good time with the kids there.
Once we left there, a few of us went to the funeral of a girl who used to come some to our church. Her name was Osiris. She had a brain tumor and the doctors did surgery, but it didn't go well. She passed away Thursday night and her funeral was today. My dad and Jacob Vaughn went to the wake Thursday night. It's at times like these that reminds me what a missionary really is. It's not all flowers and fun times, even though we do have those and God blesses us greatly, but it is the hard times that the missionary is needed as well. When the families are in pain because of a death and we minister to them and hold the weeping women in my arms as they mourn their loss--my heart breaks as well for the loss. As soon as something happens, we are the first ones they call. God has blessed us with their confidence to be able to help them in the bad times. People desiring to be in the ministry must be willing to endure the rough times as well as the bad.

After we left the cemetery, we went to the kids kitchen were we did our skit again and served the kids food. Once cleanup was done, we went to the three Saturday schools. The kids enjoyed the skits and laughed at Ashton's antics. After we were done we went back to the church to wait for the Kids Crusade to start. We had fun playing games and it was great watching the kids laugh. I'd have to say that the best part was in the altars. Even some adult women got in and were sobbing. Never limit God.

Day 5

3/6/2015

We got up early to head into Danli, a town nearest our house, to have a service at the police station called the Jefatura 7. After the service, we went to a little restaurant and had a Honduran breakfast. This is beans, platano, cream, scrambled eggs, pork, tortillas and coffee. After this Sis. Amanda, Teresa, Jacob, Rhoda, and I went to the church to decorate for the kids crusade that would start tonight. The others went around town running errands and buying the groceries for the kids kitchen that is on Saturday. Once we were all done, we headed home for a little bit before we turned around to head back to church for the kids crusade. The kids crusade was good and the kids seemed to enjoy the games and skits.

Day 4

3/5/2015

Today we went to four different military services. We went to Communications, the 6th Battalion, the Brigade, and last was the 9th Battalion. We could feel God's presence in all of the services. At the last service, we had a bigger group of about 200 military men and women. They were very excited and got in very good. They were sincere about seeking God. After the service, on our way out, we stopped to see a little monkey that they had there. He was enjoying all of the attention from all of us. He didn't like it that we had to go. After we left the 9th battalion, we went home and unloaded all of our luggage. We ate supper and went to bed.

Day 3

3/4/2015

Today was a good day. It was a little more relaxed than yesterday, because the places are closer together and we didn't have to travel as far to get to them. We left the hotel at 6:30 am and headed off to our first service that was at the special police base, called the "Cobras." We had a good service there and afterwards, they invited us to eat breakfast with them. Later, we went to the National Police Academy and held a service there, also. The last service that we went to was at the Military Academy. It is always one of my favorites--to sing "Father Abraham" with around 500 soldiers and watch them get into it like little kids. They love it! The message that Bro. Jacob Vaughn preached was very good and at the altar call there were many hands that were raised to receive Christ. Praise God!

Day 2

3/3/2015

Our day started early this morning at 4 am. We left the hotel and headed off for the first service at the police station called the 6th. The next service we had was at the 101st Artillery. Then we had a service at the 11th Battalion. Then we headed off to Coyolito at the far south of Honduras. There we got in a small boat and rode across the ocean to an island called Amapala or "Tiger Island." Once we arrived at the island, which is made from an extinct volcano, we got onto motor taxis--it is like a 3 wheeled motorcycle that has two bench seats on it. We were taken to the Naval Base. There was a lot of new recruits there. I have been there many times, but I don't think I have ever seen so many at that Navy Base before. Jacob Vaughn preached very well and during the altar call there was 30 to 40 men who raised their hands wanting to accept Christ. We could really feel God's presence there. That was my favorite service today. We are all ready and anxious for tomorrow.

Day 1

3/2/2015

It is so good to be back in Honduras once again! I am thankful to be able to be a part of this S.E.N.T. trip to the land where I was born and raised. I never thought that I would be able to be a part of one of these missions groups from FGBI, but God saw fit to let me be a part of this great opportunity to minister with other S.E.N.T. members. I am so excited to see what God has in store. Tomorrow we will start our "busy week" and begin preaching in the south of Honduras to the military, navy and police. We will have 4 services tomorrow, so we are all looking forward to it
