Day 15

3/10/2017

It's hard to believe that today was the day to come home. The trip to Honduras went by fast. It was a great trip, though, and the Lord moved.

Our day started very early this morning. We left the Sumner's at 2:30 this morning to go about two hours to the airport for our first flight. We had a safe trip and landed in Washington DC.

The trip was amazing. We had an awesome time being with the Sumners and helping them. But now we're safely home in the good, c-old USA!!

Today we had a souvenir shopping day. We went to Valle de Angeles (Valley of Angels) to get our souvenirs. It's a neat little town to be able to look for all kinds of different things.

We had pupusas for lunch. They had cheese and meat inside of them and onions and cabbage slaw to put on top. They were delicious.

I can hardly believe it's already been the full time for being in Honduras. It's been a great trip. Being with the Sumners has been great.

We split into two teams again for today to go to a few more bases. We left early this morning and had a service at an Air Force Base. On the way we had a flat tire and had to stop and change the tire.

We then met up with the other group after the first service and ate breakfast. After breakfast we went to the top of a mountain where the Jesus Statue is and got to look over the valley at the city of Tegucigalpa. We also got to go to the zoo.

The second stop was at a Police Academy. Bro. Peretic preached. The third and final stop was at a military academy. Bro. Jeff and I both preached.

We were very excited to be able to eat at the meat plate place on the roadside for supper. It was delicious and filling as usual!! I am pretty sure that nobody left hungry. Also, everybody was pretty tired after the long day because of having to leave so early.

The guys worked on putting a door frame together today, and we almost got it done. We should be able to get the door and frame installed tomorrow. It took quite a little while to finish what we got done.

Supper was turkey and all the fixings. It was really good! It was like Thanksgiving all over again!

Tonight was the second night of the youth rally. Bro. Jeff preached and the Lord came by in a sweet way once again. We had an amazing service!! We started out the altar call praying for the Sumners, and then prayed for others.

Day 10

We finished the Kid's Crusade this morning. The main theme was basically about overcoming our doubts and fears. We need the Lord to help us overcome our "Giants," no matter what they are.

Tonight we will be starting the Youth Rally. The last few days we have focused on the kids. Now we will be focusing more on the teenagers.

We had a great service tonight for the first youth service. The presence of the Lord could be felt from the very beginning. Bro. Peretic preached and the Lord began working in the hearts of the people.

We had a Saturday School this morning at a school and we did a skit about "The Good Samaritan." We then went to the soup kitchen and served food and did the skit. The food was enchiladas, but they look a lot like Mexican tostadas. Before we served the food I was playing with some of the kids and a few of them came up behind me and put ice down my back!! It was muy frio (very cold) and they thought it was pretty funny.

We did two other Saturday Schools. A 1 o'clock and a 2 o'clock service. We put on the same skit about "The Good Samaritan."

The second night of Kid's Crusade was tonight. The main theme for tonight was about having a firm foundation and being built upon the rock and not the sand. It went better tonight once we got the hang of it.

We had one stop today before we head back to the house. We stopped at a National Police Base, and they even sang "Happy Birthday" in Spanish to Sis. Peretic after she testified. Bro. Peretic preached there, and then we headed back to the Sumner's.

It also rained a little bit last night and a little bit off and on today. A few of us tried coconuts from a roadside stand. We got back to the church in time to start the Kid's Crusade.

The Kid's Crusade went good. We did a skit about the joy of our salvation. Jeff did the altar call and talked about getting saved, focusing mainly on the children, and children came up to pray afterwards.

Our first stop today was ministering to some more military. Bro. Peretic preached to them. Stop number two was to an Infantry Military Base. I had the opportunity to speak again, and when I was done Bro. Scott spoke for a few minutes and the Lord came by and touched people.

We got to go to the ocean and get some pictures. We then went to lunch. I even tried the conch soup (sopa de caracol).

Our third stop for today was at the Air Force Base where we spent the night last night and will again tonight; Bro. Ashton Davis preached here. Our fourth and final stop for the day was at a Naval Base for the Navy. The men and the women were split, which was done a few times this week, and Bro. Peretic preached for the guys. It was a really good service.

We had an early start this morning. To start off we ministered to some of the police. We then went back to the Air Force base that we spent the night at and ministered; Bro. Ashton Davis preached at these two.

We were also able to pray with a man and his wife at the second base. The man had been a barber there for a long time. But he has almost gone blind.

The third place we went to was to a Military Police base. Bro. Peretic preached here. We had a good service.

The fourth and final service for today we went to a military base. I had the opportunity to speak here. It was a pretty busy day.

Today is kind of an off day. Tomorrow we start busy week. We came to town to get wifi.

Bro. and Sis. Peretic made omelets for breakfast. They were really good. I had ham, cheese, and green bell peppers with mine.

It has been a good trip so far. It is nice and warm. I am looking forward to what the Lord had in store for the rest of the trip.
