We spent the day in town--some of us went shopping with mom and some stayed at the mall, taking advantage of the free wifi and the rest (mostly the guys) worked at the kitchen power washing the tables and benches and welding some pieces.
Our last service for the kids crusade was this morning instead of Sunday school for the children. The final pirate skit ended with the pirates finding the treasure of Barba de Fuego, which was the Bible and the cross. It went good and some of the kids I talked to were sad that it was over so soon.
Started off bright and early leaving at 7:30 am and our first event at the 110th battalion at 8 am. There was a lot of kids and they behaved themselves very well. It's a program that the military has to bring in poor children from the community and help them out.
Most of the group went to the service at the local police station and then went grocery shopping for the kids' kitchen tomorrow. I stayed to help mom with laundry and things at the house. Tonight was the first night of the kids crusade, and it went very well! Our theme is "Sailing with the Savior", and the kids seemed to enjoy themselves with the games and skits. There were some that really pressed in during the altar service--it was off to a great start!
We only had one service today and it was at the 14th battalion at El Cajon. The young men responded very well to the service and we got a good laugh out of Dad telling the guys that Lisa, Teresa and Sister Amanda were single and they wanted him to pass out applications to fill out after the service--Teresa turned very red!
Today we had one of the most memorable services at the Air Force base in San Pedro Sula. After Sarah had led song service, Sister Amanda came and began to testify about how the Lord had healed her a couple years ago and was conveying what a miracle it was. She encouraged the young men that if they needed a miracle in their lives that we serve a miracle working God and He wanted to help them. As the group came forward and began to sing, the Spirit of The Lord came down in that auditorium and Ashton began to exhort about how great is our God. He asked for those that had needs in their lives to come forward and we would pray for them. It was really touching and encouraging to see young men and women seeking God, as tears flowed down their faces. We've had 4 services today, but this was the most memorable. God is doing great things in Honduras! We started our day off by leaving the hotel at 5:45 a.m. this morning. Six services later, we are done for the day and currently traveling two hours to get to San Pedro Sula where we will be staying the night. The Lord has helped and moved in our services today with Ashton Davis and Aaron Johnson alternating preaching at each stop. There are still several new things some of the students are experiencing, like trying green mangos just a while ago. I think Sister Amanda was the only one that didn't care for them, but everyone else loved them! Something all of us are very thankful for is the Honduran climate! It has been so nice to feel the sun and warm breeze again lol! We are a little road weary, but God is good and He is our strength! ¡Buenas noches desde Honduras! For only getting a couple hours of sleep last night, I felt pretty energized traveling today except for when our planes took off and then I was out of it for most of the flight! As we were getting ready to land in Tegucigalpa, the Lord kept bringing things He had laid on my heart back to my mind. I'm so excited and ready for whatever God has in store for us, especially as we travel the next 3 days; singing, testifying, preaching and ministering in military and police bases throughout the north of Honduras. We ate at Coco Baleadas for lunch and then the "meat place" for supper. So far everyone has adjusted to the food pretty well and I'm definitely enjoying eating my favorite meals again:) Thank the Lord for safe travels today and praying He receives all the glory in the coming days!
