Today was work day at the house and church. Mostly we deep cleaned the church and house and helped organize some things. We put together a trampoline for the kids and they were so anxious to get on it and bounce. Afterwards we played basketball and soccer with the kids until church time.
Traffic in down town Port-Au-Prince is one of the craziest things I have ever seen. People are constantly honking and yelling at each other. Children and animals are roaming around and people are everywhere. If you stop at a light people come and wash the windshield and nearly demand money for it. And then there are some things you just do not even want to talk about that people have no shame in. It was fun to see the overlook on the mountain and the palace, but it was very crowded and hot.
The last day of the crusade is always intense. Both teams want to win so the other captain gets soaked with water balloons and they get lots of candy. The teens really got in to it and the tension was very high at times because both teams were very competitive. I was the captain of a team for the teens and my team won. The children were just as competitive but in a more sane way and not so dramatic about everything. The teams were all in and ready to go for the last day. We had a great time with the children.
Today the youth were a little more in to the games during the teen's crusade. They seemed to enjoy it more and wanted to participate. The younger kids were wild and so pumped up about the teams and so competitive with each other. Both the teens and the younger ones seemed to respond well to the message in the altars.
Today was our first day of doing kids crusades for the children. This morning before we got started we helped to put a swing set together for the children and then rushed off to set up for the teens to come in for service. We played some games and sang a few songs with the teens for a couple hours and did some skits. Some of them seemed to really enjoy it and others acted like it was too elementary for them and just kind of sat there and looked at us. The Lord helped and Brother Jude talked to them in the end about the Lord.
