Yesterday after we landed, we made it through Customs, gathered our luggage, exchanged our American money for Honduran currency, the Sumners treated us to a wonderful meal and then we went to the hotel to get settled in. As we talked with them, we received just a small taste of their vision and heart they have for the Honduran people. After a few hours we went and got the famous ‘meat plate’ that I had heard about from so many other people. Then it was time to rest after such an eventful day. I woke up in America and went to sleep in another country!
After months of preparation, prayer, and work, the time has finally come. From setting your alarm for 3 am, to having the vans loaded and leaving by 4 am, to being at the airport by 5 am, to catch our 7 am flight, has been an extremely eventful morning! We are set to arrive in Honduras in about an hour and 15 min (shortly after 1 p.m.). Currently we are over the ocean. I have never seen so much water in all of my life. The cruise ships that people spend thousands of dollars on are just tiny specks below us. Looking down at how small everything is, both on the land and over the water, reminds me of the verse in Psalm 8:4, What is man, that thou art mindful of him?...He sits in the heavens and yet He looks down upon our lowly estate. He has visited us and purchased our salvation. Now it is our job to spread the Good News. I am excited and looking forward to the opportunity we have to minister in Honduras! Please keep the S.E.N.T team in your prayers! We are expecting God to do great things!
